This was our entry to the Thai-U.S. Creative Partnership Logo Design Contest in 2010. Here’s the description of our design:
At the elemental level, the logo comprises graphic forms of the Thai and American flags partnering to inspire creation. More broadly, the logo has a free, unconventional form, representing the unbounded nature of creativity. The shape of the logo can also be viewed as a flourishing organism (representing the growth of creativity) or thriving flames (representing inspiration). The simplicity of the logo’s form is suitable for accurate rendering in a variety of media. The Thai and English phrases can be read separately in each language, but can also be read together as bilingual phrases, symbolizing the partnership.
Unfortunately, our design didn’t win. (Boo…) The winning design was an “infinity” sign, which, in our humble opinion, was too inside-the-box and quite missing the point. Infinity = creativity? Oh well. :)
